FRANKLINTON — The Preddys are back at it again with their annual bluegrass festival that draws music lovers from far and wide. SPRING HOPE - Arthur Dewitt Yarbrough, 80, died Wednesday morning, July 26, 2006. He was a son of the late Joe and Lilly McDonald Yarbrough. He was preceded in death by his daughters, Annette Yarbrough and Shelia Coates; and a son, Dwain Yarbrough.

BUNN, N.C. – Rickey E. Lockhart, 44, died Saturday, July 22, 2006 at his home in Bunn, N.C. after a prolonged illness. Rickey was born July 11, 1962 in Columbus, Ohio. The family relocated to Ashland, Kentucky, where his parents Thurman (1934-2001) and Mildred Lockhart raised Rickey and his six brothers and sisters.

Franklinton and Mitchner’s fire crews responded to a mobile home fire on Allen’s Way on Monday afternoon to find the structure fully engulfed.
According to the woman who was renting the property, she had left the home and when she came back at about 1:50 p.m., the house was on fire.
