Danny Lewis Pearce
July 2, 1952 - May 4, 2026

Danny Lewis Pearce, age 73, passed away peacefully at his home on May 4, 2026, and is now with his Lord and Savior. He was born July 2, 1952, in Wake County, to the late Robert Pressley Pearce, Jr. and Lovie Blackley Pearce.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, May 8, 2026, at Gethsemane Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, 809 W Gannon Avenue, Zebulon. Graveside service will follow immediately after.

The family will receive friends and relatives, prior to the service, from 10:00 to 10:45 am, in the mausoleum.

Danny was a 1970 graduate of Wakelon School in Zebulon. For many years, Danny worked in the knitting mill business, repairing machines. He worked at Tri-Circuits in Zebulon for several years before getting his realtor's license and worked for Parrish Realty. After a short time, Danny opened his own real estate office, Pearce Realty, Inc. from 1994 to present. In 2006 Danny and his wife moved to Lake Royale where he loved Lake Life and spending time sitting on the screened porch with friends and lots of times just piddling around in his garage. Although Danny never served in the military, he volunteered many hours of his time at Lake Royale for AMVets Post 201 as an "Honorary Volunteer". Danny co-partnered a Services LTD Grading and Trenching business with bonus son, Michael Melillo. Danny served a four-year term as a Franklin County Commissioner at Large from 2020 -2024. Danny was also a member of the Louisburg Moose Lodge # 2256 and was active in the Franklin County Republican Party for numerous years, where he was party chairman for 2 years.

Danny is survived by his wife of 33 years, Ophelia "Opie" Keeter Pearce; Daughter, Katina Pearce Jenkins; Sons: Jason P. Pearce (Amy) and Jeremy B. Pearce all of Sylvania, GA; Step-Son, David R. Daniel (Julianne) of Front Royal, VA; Bonus-son, Michael Melillo; Sister, Marie P. (Hinton) Williams (Danny); Four Grandsons: Austin and Justin Pearce, Christopher and Lucian Daniel; One Granddaughter, Vittoria Ophelia Daniel; one Nephew, Matthew Hinton; two great nieces: Presley Hinton and Harper Hinton; and one bonus great grandson, Bowen.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a Son-in-Law, Allen Jenkins.

The family would like to extend their deepest appreciation to Dolly White, RN; Kristen White, RN; Latisha Coley, CNA; and the staff at Amedisys Hospice of Franklin County.
