DENNIS WAYNE ROBERSON

HENDERSON, NC -- Dennis Wayne Roberson, 76, of Epsom, passed away on June 11, 2023. He was born on May 2, 1947, the son of the late William and Mary Mayes Roberson. In addition to his parents, Dennis was predeceased by siblings, Jean Bowden, Billy Roberson, Sidney Roberson, and Ricky Roberson.

Dennis is survived by his loving wife, Mary Ayscue Roberson; his sons, Sidrick Roberson (Jennifer) and Lee Roberson ( Kathryn); his grandkids, Meredith Roberson, Caleb Burnette, Lillian Roberson, Ryan Steiger, Elaina Overby, and Keira Overby; his siblings, Marion Woodlief (Elton), Edith Whitby, Ruth Gunter (Bob), Larry Ray Roberson (Denise), Andy Roberson (Annette), Margaret Hicks (Buster), Ellen Richardson (Mark), and Sandy Mangum (Tom); and many nieces and nephews.

Dennis proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He was friendly, outgoing, and never met a stranger. He loved his family, his grandkids, his friends, and all children. Dennis enjoyed rabbit hunting, old muscle cars with loud engines, drag racing, and growing tomatoes. Dennis coached his sons in baseball and when they had aged out of playing, he continued coaching.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 14, 2023 from 6:00-7:30 p.m. at Lancaster Funeral and Cremation Services, 804 N. Bickett Blvd Louisburg NC 27549. Memorial services will be held at New Bethel Baptist Church, 1238 New Bethel Church Rd., Henderson, NC 27537, on Thursday, June 15, 2023 at 2 p.m. with the Reverend Jon Owens officiating.

The family is using Michael's Florist in Henderson for flowers. Services are under the direction of Lancaster Funeral & Cremation Services. Friends and family are encouraged to visit www.lancasterfcs.com to offer condolences.
