DAN C. PEARCE
September 6, 1924 - February 28, 2021

LOUISBURG, NC - Dan Currin Pearce, 96, of Louisburg, passed away Sunday night at this home.

Dan was born in Franklin County, North Carolina on September 6, 1924. Dan was a son of the late Julius and Ammie Medlin Pearce. He was preceded in death by his wife of 77 years, Coleen W. Pearce; sisters, Dorothy Parrish, Pattie Wrenn, Lillian Strickland, Colleen "Pete" Stallings and his brother, J.C. Pearce.

Dan is survived by his son, Danny Pearce, daughters and son-in-law, Barbara P. Gentry; Patricia P. and Darrell Cash all of Louisburg; grandchildren, Lisa S. and the late Ronnie Perry; Kenneth and Kim Strickland; Sherry C. and Steve Mercer; Heath and Denise Cash; Jennifer and Kenny Allen; Monica and Jeff Miller; Tracy M. Collins and Chris Tatum; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

He was a member of Rock Spring Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and was active in the choir and served as Sunday School Superintendent for several years. He was a devoted loving husband, father, grandfather, great & great-great grandfather, who enjoyed helping his family and friends in many special ways. Dan had a great love for music as well as being a farmer, he also sold insurance and drove a school bus for several years.

A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday at Rock Spring Baptist Church with Rev. Melton Tyson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the church fellowship hall.
