YOUNGSVILLE, NC -- Melvin Douglas "Doug" Hayes, passed away on September 13, 2026.
Doug was born on June 23, 1949, in Franklin County, and was living in Youngsville, North Carolina, at the time of his passing.
Doug is survived by his beloved wife, Cheryl; his daughter, Gidget; his son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Amy; one grandson; and his niece.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, September 18, at Peachtree Baptist Church in Spring Hope, NC. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. He will lie in state on Thursday, September 17, at Bright Funeral Home from 12 -5 p.m.
