Vernon Homer Lowery

Franklinton, NC -- Vernon Homer Lowery, age 83, of Franklinton, North Carolina, died at his residence on Saturday afternoon, May 9, 2026. He was born on August 12, 1942, in Franklin County, to the late, Luther Cleveland Lowery Sr. and Letha Mae White Lowery.

Vernon is survived by his wife, Teresa, of the home; his daughters, Teresa L. Dowless and her husband Don of Georgia, and Vivian L. Aloisi and her husband Tommy of Youngsville; and a grandson; his sisters, Clara L. Briggs and Beatrice L. Harrison, both of Wake Forest, and Betty L. Boughman of Youngsville, as well as nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Jean Kearney Lowery; his sisters, Mary Lowery Kemp, Fairis Lowery Cambell, and Kate Lowery McCree; his brothers, Luther Cleveland Lowery, Jr., Raeford Arvel Lowery, and Tony Alfred Lowery, Sr.; and his parents, Luther Cleveland Lowery Sr. and Letha Mae White Lowery.

Funeral services were held at 12 p.m., Tuesday, May 12, at Franklinton Baptist Church, 102 W. Mason Street, Franklinton, NC with visitation from 11-11:45 a.m. prior to the service. Burial followed in Popes Chapel Christian Church Cemetery, 1237 Pocomoke Road, Franklinton, NC 27525. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Hope Ministry C/O Rev. Rich Childress, 102 W Mason Street, Franklinton, NC 27525 or to Transition Life Care, 250 Hospice Circle, Raleigh, NC 27607.
