David Elliott Cheek
January 14, 1948 - June 24, 2025

OXFORD, NC -- David Elliott Cheek, 77, of Henry Wilson Road, died Tuesday, June 24, 2025 at Duke Regional Hospital. Born January 14, 1948 in Guilford County, he was the son of the late Bernice Daniel Cheek and Edna Reddick Cheek. He was retired from the Town of Butner where he was a water treatment operator in the public works department.

David attended Dexter Baptist Church where a memorial service will be held Saturday, June 28, 2025 at 3 p.m. by Rev. Wayne Clark.

He is survived by his wife, Gayle Merritt Cheek of the home; his son, Daniel Harding Cheek of the home; his sister, Patricia Hayes and husband, Phil of Louisburg; an uncle, Billy Reddick and wife, Betty; two aunts, Betty Reddick and Wilma Alfred; and several nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four uncles, Raymond Reddick, Frank Alfred, Norman Reddick and Douglas Reddick; and an aunt, Elevine Holt

The family will receive friends prior to the service on Saturday beginning at 2 p.m. at Dexter Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Double D Rescue, 3144 Henry Wilson Road, Oxford, NC 27565.
