Warrenton, NC -- Evelyn Colbert Jones, 76, of Warrenton, died Monday afternoon, April 7, 2025, at her home.

Born June 20, 1948, Evelyn was a daughter of the late John "Jack" and Susie P. Colbert. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years Macon Jones, son, Laverne Jones and infant daughter, Melissa Jones; sisters, Edna C. Sutton and Minnie C. Wilson; brothers, Maurice Colbert, Wallace Colbert, J. W. Colbert, Richard Colbert and Stanley Colbert.

The family received friends 2 - 2:50 p.m. Wednesday, April 9. The funeral service followed at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Strickland Funeral Home & Crematory. Burial was in the Jones Family Cemetery.

Evelyn is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Sherhonda Jones of Warrenton; daughter and son-in-law, Angela Jones Neville and James Neville of Rocky Mount; two grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Donna Colbert; sister-in-law, Yvonne Colbert; and several nieces, and nephews.
