E. ALEXANDER "ALEX" BALL

LOUISBURG--Earlie Alexander "Alex" Ball, of Louisburg departed this earthly life at the age of 88 on Monday, October 8, 2018 at Louisburg Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. Alex was born on April 21, 1930 in Louisburg, NC to the late Joseph K., Sr. and Julia Mosley Ball. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Hunt Ball; brothers, Joseph "Joe" Ball, Jr., Walter H. Ball, Sr., Clyde H. Ball, Sr and Lindy W. Ball; sisters, Novie B. Dupree and Julia B. Dickerson.

Alex was a longtime tobacco and cattle farmer. He loved his family, his church, Piney Grove Methodist Church, and his church family there. Alex made many friends during his lifetime and loved each one of them. He was very close with and loved all of his nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 7:00-8:30 pm at Lancaster Funeral and Cremation Services, 804 N. Bickett Blvd. Louisburg, NC 27549. A memorial service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday at 2:00 pm with Reverends Marshall Stewart and Bob Mosher. Burial will follow at Lancaster Memorial Park.

Alex is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Jerry W. and Donna Ball; daughters and sons-in-law, Anne B. and Bobby Fagan, Brenda B. and Philip Smith, Sandra B. and Orin Edwards; a sister-in-law, Shirley P. Ball; grandchildren, Brandon Ball, Matthew Edwards, Ashley Smith, Lindsay Smith Webster (Eric); great-grandsons, Hunter Carpenter and Brayden Webster.

The family would like to thank the staff at Louisburg Healthcare and Rehab for the love and care Alex received during his time at the facility. In addition, sincere gratitude is given to the staff of Transitions LifeCare for their services.

Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Piney Grove Methodist Church, in care of Donna Ball, 352 Moulton Rd., Louisburg, NC 27549. Arrangements are being handled by Lancaster Funeral and Cremation Services. Online condolences may be made to www.lancasterfcs.com.
