CATHERINE T. PEARCE
June 20, 1924 - March 9, 2017

CASTALIA - Catherine Tharrington Pearce, 92, of the Cedar Rock Community, passed away peacefully Thursday.

She was born in Franklin County, the daughter of the late Clinton and Betsy Tharrington.

Catherine was preceded in death by her husband, Lennis V. Pearce; sisters, Dorothy Gupton and Helen Toney; brothers, Allen and Bill Tharrington.

A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. on Saturday at Cedar Rock First Baptist Church, where she was a member, with the Rev. Nathaniel Williams officiating. Burial will follow in the Pearce Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the home at all times.

Catherine is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Joyce Pearce; grandsons, Larry Pearce and wife, Teresa; Michael Pearce and wife, Sandra; Marty Pearce, all of Cedar Rock; 5 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cedar Rock First Baptist Church, 4879 NC Hwy. 56 E., Castalia, NC 27816.
