HAZEL S. GILLIAM

LOUISBURG - Hazel Mae Smith Gilliam, 94, died Saturday, Oct. 15, 2016. The family will receive friends at Cedar Rock First Baptist Church on Tuesday, Oct. 18, from 2-2:45 p,m. where funeral services will be held at 3 p.m., with the Rev. Nathaniel Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.

She was born in Nash County to the late John H. and Bertha Taylor Smith.

Surviving: son, Johnnie (Helen) Gilliam; daughters, Tammy G. (Jimmy) Harris, Doris G. (Richard) Collins, and Janet G. (Harris) Spencer; sisters, Rosalyn Forsyth and Nancy (Willis) Cook; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hertlee O. Gilliam; a daughter, Cathy G. Cantwell; brothers, Willis and Curtis Smith; and a great-grandson.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution to Cedar Rock First Baptist Church in Hazel's memory.

Arrangements are being handled by Lancaster Funeral & Cremation Services, 804 N. Bickett Blvd., Louisburg, NC 27549.
