HERBERT LYONS COSTOLO, III
December 25, 1962 – August 19, 2012
BUNN - Herbert Lyons Costolo, III, 49, of Bunn, NC, formerly of Pittsburgh, PA, died Sunday, August 19, 2012.

Herb was the loving son of Herbert Lyons Costolo, Jr. and Emelie Doerfler Costolo.  He was the older brother to John W. Costolo of Australia, and Ronald E. Costolo of Pittsburgh, PA.

Herb graduated from Penn State University with a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering where he met his wife of 23 years, Lisa Costolo.  He was a valued employee of FM Global for 26 years as a Loss-Prevention Engineer.  Herb was deeply involved in the community of Bunn.  He was an Eagle Scout and he continued to serve as a Scout leader for over 10 years.  He was an active member of Bunn Baptist Church.  He participated in the choir, youth ministry and numerous leadership positions.  Herb enjoyed running and completed several half marathons.

Herb is survived by his loving wife, Lisa; his son, Ben, a junior at NC State; and his daughter, Erin, a senior at Bunn High School.  He is also survived by his parents; brothers; sisters-in-law, Tracy Costolo and Jan Ross; and nephews, Joshua, Levi and Tyler Costolo, and Daniel Duffala.  Herb was a deeply loving man who valued his family and God above all else.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 24, 2012, at 5:00 pm at Bunn Baptist Church, 205 E. Jewett Ave., Bunn, NC  27508.  Service will be officiated by the Rev. Brian Tome, cousin to Herb.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial gifts be sent to Occoneechee Council of Boy Scouts of America, P.O. Box 41229, Raleigh, NC  27629.
