September 20, 1929 – July 1, 2010
CASTALIA - Laura Edwards Pearce, 80, of the Red Bud Community died July 1, 2010.

She was born September 20, 1929 in Spring Hope, NC.  She was the only child of the late Lillie Lewis and Henry Glenn Edwards.  She graduated with the Spring Hope Class of 1947.  She was a member of the Red Bud Baptist Church.

A service to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, July 3, from the Red Bud Baptist Church at 3 p.m. with burial in Lancaster Memorial Park.

The family received friends 6 - 7:30 p.m. Friday at Strickland Funeral Home in Louisburg.

She is survived by her husband, W.B. Pearce of 59 years;  son, Bruce Pearce and wife Sue of Halifax Virginia; daughter, Carol Davis and husband Garry of Louisburg; grandsons, B.J. Pearce and wife Kristy of Richmond, Virginia, Will Pearce and wife Karen of Richmond, Virginia, Jarrett Pearce of Radford, Virginia, and Jonathan Davis of Wilmington, North Carolina; one great-grandson, Matthew Walker Pearce.

Also surviving, two caregivers, Donna Davis and Nellie Johnson of the home; a special nephew, Bill Pearce of Raleigh. North Carolina, and special niece, Betsy Leonard of Tifton Georgia; and a host of cousins and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the National Kidney Foundation of North Carolina, Inc., 5950 Fairview Rd, Ste. 708, Charlotte, NC 28210 or Alzheimer’s North Carolina, 1305 Navaho Dr., Suite 101, Raleigh NC 27609.
