Gladys Lewis Branche

RALEIGH, NC -- Gladys Lewis Branche, age 107, was born on August 20, 1918, in Louisburg, NC, to the late Richard and Ethel Cooke Lewis. She died in the morning of June 25, 2026.

Gladys was married to the late Maurice Herbert Branche Sr., and they had two children, Maurice Herbert Branche Jr. (Butch), who preceded her in death; and Connie Wilson (Sarah) of the home.

In addition to her son and husband, she was preceded in death by her sisters Zula McCray, Mamie Council, Christine Hazelwood, and her brother James Albert Lewis.

She is survived by her daughter, Constance "Connie" Wilson; two grandchildren; three great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation, was 11:30 a.m. to 12 p.m., Thursday, July 2, followed by the funeral at Mount Peace Baptist Church, 1601 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Raleigh, NC. The Rev. Dr. J. Vincent Terry St., Pastor, officiated. Public viewing was 12 to 8 p.m., July 1 at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the African American Alzheimer's Association, www.africanamericanalz.org.
