DONNIE RAY LEONARD (December 31, 1956 – December 15, 2006)
LOUISBURG - Donnie Ray Leonard, 49, of 769 Walter Collins Rd. lost his battle with cancer on December 15th at his home.

Mr. Leonard was the son of the late Sanford and Lorine Dorsey Leonard and was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother. He retired from Franklin County Government due to his illness. Donnie was an avid hunter and a member of Rock Spring Baptist Church.

Funeral service was 3 p.m. Monday at Rock Spring Baptist Church, with the Rev. Melton Tyson officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Carolyn O. Leonard; daughter, Brandy Leonard Gupton and husband Russel of Louisburg; two beloved grandchildren, Mackenzie and Matthew Gupton; sisters, Yvonne L. Colbert (Stanley) of Castalia and Brenda Leonard of Louisburg; brothers, Earl Leonard (Rose) of Louisburg and Stanley Leonard (Janet) of Castalia; sisters-in-law, Christine T. Glover (Bill) and Joyce Qualk (Bill); brother-in-law, Tony Parrish (Anna); five nieces and four nephews.

Visitation was at Strickland Funeral Home in Louisburg on Sunday from 4-5:30 pm and other times at the home.
