ELAINE B. WOOD
December 11, 1924 – February 8, 2011
LOUISBURG – Elaine Bowden Wood, 86, of Louisburg, went home to be with her Lord Tuesday evening.

Mrs. Wood was the daughter of the late Ira Alston and Gertice Griffin Bowden. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Wood, and her son, Charles Wood. She was a member of White Level Baptist Church.

Funeral service was 3 p.m. Thursday at White Level Baptist Church, with the Rev. Henry Stamper officiating. Burial followed in the Wood Family Cemetery.

Mrs. Wood is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Sherwood and Sandra Wood, Ronnie and Myra Wood; daughter-in-law, Karen H. Wood; grandchildren, Jason M. Wood and wife Lauren, Brian Wood and Cale Wood, Teresa W. Griffith and husband, John, Kari W. Ayscue and husband, Billy; great-granddaughter, Payton Wood.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to White Level Baptist Church, 2400 White Level Rd. Louisburg, NC 27549.

Arrangements are by Strickland Funeral Home & Crematory, Louisburg.
