LOUISBURG — Tuesday night’s votes produced two clear winners in the sheriff’s race, while the clerk of court battle was separated by just more than 100 votes.
The results are unofficial until provisional ballots are counted and a canvass takes place on May 13.
But based on Tuesday night’s numbers, incumbent Patricia Burnette Chastain garnered 3,315 votes to Shelley Dickerson’s 3,209 votes for the Democratic party’s nod.
