Two Franklin County residents were killed in separate wrecks over the weekend.
First, investigators said Thomas William Willis Jr., 57, of Louisburg, was driving north on Mort Harris Road near George Leonard Road on Friday evening when he ran off the road and hit a tree.
The 2012 Chevy he was driving burst into flames and Willis, the only occupant, was trapped inside.

LOUISBURG - Funeral services for Walter P. Brown Jr., 65, who died Friday, May 10, 2013, will be held Tuesday, May 14, at 11 a.m. at Jones Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, with the Rev. Hosey Star III officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
