LENA MAE TABOR PLACE September 23, 1939 - August 17, 2026
Lena Mae Tabor Place, 86, passed away peacefully on August 17, 2026 after an extended illness. She was born on September 23, 1939 to Earl and Clara Ruth Tabor. Lena was the beloved wife of the late William Milton Place and a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her family was the center of her life, and she cherished the time she spent with each of them. Lena is survived by her son, Dale Place (Lisa), and daughter-in-law, Nicole Place. She was a loving grandmother to Maghan Walker (Charlie), Matthew Place (Spencer), Daniel Place, and Nicholas Place (Makayla). She was also a proud great-grandmother to Briggs Walker, Shepherd Walker, Wilson Place, and Landon Place. Lena's greatest legacy is the love she gave to her family. She will be remembered and deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her. The memories she created with her family will continue to live on through the generations. Especially her Tuesday night pork chops. She is now reunited with the love of her life, William, and beloved son, George Ryan Place. Though her passing leaves a deep void in the hearts of those who loved her, her family finds comfort knowing that she is at peace and reunited with those who went before her. Her love, kindness, and cherished memories will remain in their hearts and continue to be treasured for generations to come. A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Saturday, August 22, 2026 in the Chapel of Strickland Funeral Home. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
