ZEBULON, NC -- Virgina Medlin Spencer, 90, of Zebulon, passed away Friday morning, July 17, 2026.

Virginia was born December 6, 1935, in Johnston County to the late Zollie Thomas Medlin and Allie Gray Medlin.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Raymond Spencer; infant daughter, Betty Ray Spencer; brothers, Jarvis Medlin, Troy Medlin and Coy Lee Medlin; sisters, Jenny Bell and Marlene Wood.

Virginia is survived by her daughters, Margaret (Jerry) Piper-Faucette, Carolyn Spencer (Phillip) Robertson, Terry Spencer Cobb, Donna Spencer (David) Lee; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one great great-grandchild; sisters, Shirley Pace (Richard Chaffee), and Dorothy Abbott (Wayne) Thomas; and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service was held at 11 a.m., Monday, July 20 in the chapel of Strickland Funeral Home & Crematory in Louisburg. The family received friends one hour prior to the service and 2 - 5 p.m. Sunday at the home.
