LOUISBURG, NC -- Helen Wheless Wilson, age 99, of Louisburg, died Thursday, June 4, 2026, surrounded by her family.

Helen was preceded in death by her first-born child, Gail Johnson; her first husband, Thurman Johnson; her second husband, William Wilson; her stepson, Woody Wilson; and her great-grandson, Jacob Cope; sisters, Martha Hundley, Ruth Lolley and Dorothy Wright; brothers, Robert "Bob" Wheless and Perry Wheless.

She is survived by her daughters, Mary Ellen Johnson, Martie Boone, and Alice Seybert (Mike); her stepdaughter, Linda Cottrell (Jimmie); her daughter-in-law, Linda Wilson; five grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; brother-in-law, John Wright.

A memorial service was held 4 p.m. Saturday, June 6 in the chapel of Strickland Funeral Home & Crematory in Louisburg. The family received friends immediately following the service.

A private burial was held for the family.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to a fire training scholarship fund established in loving memory of her great grandson, Jacob Cope.
