Raymond H. Huber Jr. February 11, 1958 - January 23, 2025
Franklinton, NC -- Raymond H. Huber Jr., 66, of Franklinton, NC passed away on Thursday, January 23, 2025 at Wake Med Hospital in Raleigh, NC with his family by his side. Ray was born on February 11, 1958 to Raymond Huber Sr. and Emma Huber in Phillipsburg, NJ. He and his wife, Robin, moved to Raleigh, NC in 1981 and eventually settled in Franklin County where they raised their two daughters, Lisa and Brandi. Ray was known as a hard worker by all who knew him. He served his country in the Army National Guard as a bridge engineer and was a member of American Legion Post 52 in Franklinton. He was skilled in all types of trades including masonry, auto mechanics, truck driving, and aggregate materials. He retired in 2023 from Martin Marietta after working as a loader operator for the company for seventeen years. Even throughout his many treatments for cancer, he rarely missed a day of work. He was a skilled artist, able to freehand draw or paint anything. He created custom artwork on many types of vehicles including cars, motorcycles and transfer trucks. Ray enjoyed trips to the NC mountains, spending time with his family, "supervising" home and auto projects, and drinking a cold beer. Ray was preceded in death by his father, Ray Sr. (Pop), his bonus mom, Bertha Pursell and several fur babies. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Robin, as well as his daughters Brandi Huber and Lisa Pursell-Morris and her husband Jesse Morris, all of Franklinton. He also leaves behind his three "buddies" - grandsons Michael Holsclaw and his wife Courtney along with their three children - Atlas, Caden, and Kinsley of Wake Forest; grandsons Seth Holsclaw, and Joshua Morris (Amber) of Franklinton. Ray is also survived by his mother Emma Huber, brothers Tracy Huber (Cindy) and Glenn Huber all of Creedmoor, his sister Jackie Huber (Joe) of NJ as well as several nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of Ray's life on February 15 at the family's home in Franklinton from 2 - 6 p.m. Arrangements are by Lancaster Funeral and Cremation Services.
