LAKE ROYALE --James "Jim" Allen Lee Sr., 75, died Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2016 at his residence. A memorial service honoring his life was held Friday, Oct. 14, in the chapel of Bright Funeral Home.

He was born in Johnston County, the son of the late Pearl Adams Lee and James Melton Lee. He was preceded in death by his wife, Janet Gupton Lee. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Surviving: his children: Marti Lee Dunn (Jerry) of Butner, Jamie Lee of Lake Royale, Terri Lee Ferrell of Raleigh, Shelia Abbott (Ronnie Boyd) of Wake Forest, Philip Blackley (Carmen) of Creedmoor; and five grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Durham VA Medical Center, c/o Voluntary Service, 508 Fulton Street, Durham, NC 27705.
