WINSTON-SALEM - Eleanor Vann Rose Booke died Tuesday, April 24, 2007. A private family graveside service was held Friday, April 27, at Forsyth Memorial Park, followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m. at Salem Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Jack Yarbrough officiating.

She was born in Franklinton to Robert Jordan and Eleanor Vann Rose. Mrs. Booke graduated from Salem Academy and Fairfax Hall with honors and received the Fairfax Key. After graduation from UNC at Greensboro, she taught physical education at Salem Academy and College.

Surviving: her husband, Sam L. Booke Jr.; a son, Sam L. Booke III (Cindy) of Charlotte; daughters, Mary B. Kerfoot (Hank) of Camden, S.C., and Elizabeth B. Vaughn (Parick) of Charlotte; and eight grandchildren.
