LOUISBURG - Funeral services for Charlie "Toot" Alston Jr., 65, who died Sunday, Feb. 15, 2015, will be held at 12 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 21, at Walnut Grove Baptist Church, with the Rev. Thomas Richardson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Surviving: wife, Bettie Alston of the home; son, Charlie Tyrone Alston (Joye) of Waldorf, Md.; sisters, Geraldine Alston of Castalia, Verlean Harris (Joe) of Franklinton, Sheirl McCormick (James) of Clayton, Nancy Jones (James) of Castalia, Fannie Pitts (Columbus) of Nashville, Nonie Brodie (Gaither) and Barbara Hines (Mike), all of Louisburg, Vivian Alston of Castalia and Elnora Henry (James) of Ivanhoe, N.C.; brothers, Joe Alston and Claude Alston.

Open visitation will be held at Richardson Funeral Home in Louisburg on Friday, Feb. 21, from 3 to 7 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family.
