FRANKLINTON —Catherine Davis Brooks, 60, died Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2013 at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill. Funeral services were held Saturday, Nov. 9, at Manasseh Chapel Baptist Church, with the Rev. Samuel T. Tunstall officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.

She was born in Franklin County, the daughter of the late Linwood Davis and Naomi Bass Davis. She joined First Baptist Church of Franklinton at an early age. Following her graduation from Franklinton High School, she was employed by Schrader-Bellows of Wake Forest for 27 years until she retired.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack, and daughter, Ingrid Brooks.

Surviving: two children, Erica McNair (Sherrill) of Franklinton and Marcus Brooks of the home; stepdaughter, Helen Clark (Anthony) of Clayton; sisters, Linda Davis of Raleigh, Diane Davis and Alice Jones (Charlie), all of Franklinton; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
