CASTALIA - Mildred  “Millie” Virginia Barnes, 83, died Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2013. Funeral services were held Saturday, Oct. 26, at White Level Baptist Church in Louisburg, with the Rev. Henry Stamper officiating. Burial followed in Cedarwood Cemetery in Roanoke Rapids.

She was a native of Northampton County and the daughter of the late Pete and Ruth Floyd Moody.  She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Jennie Lynn Lewis, and three sisters, Bennie Boyce, Teresa Conrad and Earline Smith.

Surviving: sons, William Ronald Lewis (Mary) of Venice, Fla., Marshall Vance Lewis of Atlantic Beach, Charles Michael Lewis (Sheila) of Chesapeake, Va.; stepson, Mitch Barnes (Dana) of Missouri; brothers, Elbert Moody (Louise) of Greensboro and Pete Moody (Maxine) of Gaston; seven grandchildren and eight great- grandchildren.
