LOUISBURG - Sallie Lou Murray Smith, 91, died Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2013 in Harrisonburg, Va. Funeral services were held Sunday, Sept. 22, at Maple Springs Baptist Church, Louisburg, with the Revs. Jason Havens and Floyd Benfield officiating. Interment followed at Flat Rock Baptist Church Cemetery.

She was born to the late Wiley P. and Hattie Wester Murray in Franklin County. She was preceded in death by her husband, A. D. Smith; her brothers, Johnny, Jack, Lucas, Herman, Spencer, Floyd, George, and Walter Murray; her sisters, Christine Fuller, Alice Duncan, and Nellie Dean.

She lived in Franklin County most of her life, worked at Louisburg Sportswear and also worked on the family farm. She was a member of Maple Springs Baptist Church and Flat Rock Baptist Church and taught children’s Sunday School for over 40 years.

Surviving: son, Danny M. Smith (Anne) of Louisburg; daughters Rexie Jane Lye (Steve) of Raleigh, Peggy Lou Mathieu (Rick) of Harrisonburg, Va., and Brenda Smith Davis (Ron) of Clemmons; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
