LOUISBURG-Mildred Leonard Ward, 86, died Friday, June 21, 2013, at Franklin Oaks Nursing Center.  The family will receive friends Sunday from 3 to 4:30 p.m. at Centerville Baptist Church fellowship hall.

She was born to the late Herbert and Beatrice Hight Leonard.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Lemuel Smith Ward, Sr.,  and her brother. Willard F. Leonard 

Surviving: daughters, Joy (William) Jones of Louisburg and Dene (Mike) Harris of Zebulon; sons L.S. (Angela) Ward of Louisburg and Leonard (Lynda) Ward of Sanford; sisters, Pat (Leland) Kennedy of Louisburg and Barbara Jean Wrenn of Greenville; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
