HENDERSON - Paul Leon Massengill, 69, formerly of Four Oaks, died Thursday, Feb. 25, 2010. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 28, at Minshew Funeral Home chapel, 5820 US Highway 301 S., Four Oaks, with the Rev. Billy Nowell officiating.

He was born in Johnston County to the late Tommy and Ila Massengill. He was an honorary member of SeaBee Veterans of America and former member of the Board of Directors for Franklin Regional Medical Center.

Surviving: wife, Barbara Anne Billington Massengill; sons, Paul Leon Massengill Jr. of Louisburg and Jeffrey Wayne Massengill of Durham; daughter, Tina Massengill Smith of Dunn; sister, Mazzie Bailey of Middlesex; and five grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Sylvia Grey Sullivan Massengill, and a brother, James Massengill.

Visitation will be at Minshew Funeral Home Saturday, Feb. 27, from 6 to 8 p.m.
